The city of Cape Town boasts more than 4.6 million residents and a wealth of cultural and education resources.
The WFU/Cape Town: Religious Pluralism and Interreligious Engagement Community Based Global Learning Program is based in the capital city of Cape Town. As the cultural and economic heart of the country, Cape Town is known for its thriving business sector and its vast array of museums, galleries, and festivals. The city serves as a major sub-Saharan travel hub and a must visit destination within South Africa.
Students on this program will enroll in CGS 154, a 1.5 credit Community Based Global Learning course for the spring semester. The course will meet weekly focusing on understanding community based global service engagement in a global context. The course introduces students to theoretically-based issues and skills needed for understanding and interacting with people from cultures different from their own.
This particular program is offered in conjunction with The Department for the Study of Religions and the Intercultural Center, and will focus on an exploration of various religious traditions and community engagement.
