Copenhagen, Denmark's capitol and most populous city, was founded as a Viking fishing village in the 10th century. Since its humble beginnings Copenhagen has involved into one of the worlds cleanest, most sustainable and livable cities. Copenhagen's compact size, timely public transportation and emphasis on cycling and walking make it a highly accessible city for visitors to explore. The Danish are renowned for their design, and their emphasis on minimalist design leads to simple yet striking beauty throughout the city. Combine these attributes with a burgeoning food scene and excellent art museums and Copenhagen should be high on every travelers list.

This course, POL 210: Millennials, Politics & Culture, will explore current research on the 'millennial' generation's political, civic, and cultural practices, habits, and outlook, focusing especially on younger millennials (16-24 years old). The Reynolda campus portion of the class will emphasize U.S. millennials, in Copenhagen we will extend to comparative study of this generation's similar/dissimilar features in other world regions, including Scandanavia, Australia, Northeast Asia, and Latin America. The majority of this course will be taught during the second half of spring semester on the Reynolda Campus, followed by 2 intensive weeks in Copenhagen.
For the two weeks in Copenhagen students will reside in DIS-owned apartments. Students will have access to full kitchens in their housing for preparing their own meals.
