About the Program
Global Ambassadors are current Wake Forest students who have studied abroad on WFU-approved programs. They are student representatives for the Center for Global Programs and Studies, sharing their experiences and knowledge of study abroad. Ambassadors meet with interested students and groups and act as guides throughout the study abroad preparation process.
Contact a Global Ambassador
Know that you want to go abroad but not sure where? Want to know what courses are like in other countries? Need travel tips? For answers to these questions, speak to one of our Global Ambassadors. The Global Ambassadors welcome the opportunity to talk with students considering study abroad. To connect with an Ambassador, please e-mail them directly or set up a time to meet. You can also connect with Global Ambassadors at pre-departure workshops, information sessions, and study abroad fairs.
Apply to Be a Global Ambassador
Are you interested in applying to be a Global Abroad Ambassador? It’s a great resume builder, a fun way to stay connected to study abroad, a leadership role, a mentorship opportunity, and more!
The application for the Fall 2025-Spring 2026 cohort of Global Ambassadors will open Summer 2025. Students eligible to apply for the next cohort will be emailed the application form.

Travel Tip: When I was abroad, I found that taking walks around whatever city you’re in is very helpful when it comes to orienting yourself with your new home. Get out and explore!

Travel Tip: Just go. Keep moving. Don’t stop and put a target on yourself that says “hey, I’m not a local and I’m lost”. It labels you as an easy target. Going anywhere will eventually lead you SOMEwhere, and you can adjust your route on the go.

Thomas Bauserman
he/him

Annee Bess Blair
she/her

Travel Tip: Find the local authentic restaurants and cafes you love in your home city, but always look for opportunities to branch out and try new foods and experiences! Temporary discomfort and anxiety while trying new things is the best way to grow throughout your abroad experience!

Jon Bucci

Major: COM
Minors: MARCOM,DCE,FLM
Travel Tip: Don’t let any sort of discomfort hold you back from making your abroad experience transformative and everything you want it to be. For me, it was my “yes” era where I challenged myself in every way possible, and rarely declined an invite to go on an adventure or try something new!

Griffin Girard
he/him
Study Abroad Program(s): WFU Flow House (Fall 2024)
Major: CHM
Minors: REL,BIO
Travel Tip: When studying abroad, make an emphasis to visit obscure countries and destinations. Some of the best places are ones you likely wouldn’t visit directly from America. For example, the golf courses in Bulgaria are spectacular!

Andrew Gregerson
he/him
Study Abroad Program(s): IES Vienna (Fall 2025)
Major: ECN
Minor: COM
Travel Tip: My biggest tip is to pack LIGHT. Mobility matters and you don’t need much more than a backpack for a weekend getaway. Also, European airlines make all their money with checked bags. Bringing just a backpack makes everything a lot cheaper and allows for even more trips for the rest of the semester!

Ella Jones
she/her
Study Abroad Program(s): WFU CBGL Kenya (Spring Short Term 2025) & WFU Casa Artom (Summer 2025)
Major: HST
Minors: SES,CPH
Travel Tip: Use maps on your phone to pin sights as you research for weekend trips or home base. That way you won’t need a set plan to really cover a lot of ground & make the most of a place!
