A sweet summer recap from Makena M. ♥️🏴
“I’ve absolutely LOVED my time in the Literature of the Witch study abroad program! Combining English and Creative Writing to study the archetypal “witch” figure throughout history has been so interesting, largely credited to our amazing professors Drs. Hogan and Ruocco who are a serious dream team. Being able to take multi-day trips to Stratford-upon-Avon (the home of Shakespeare) and the coast at Cornwall (where legends about King Arthur and Merlin originate) have been so special!
Along with excursions to places like Shakespeares Globe Theater and Hampstead Heath, our class schedule allows us students free time to explore London and beyond- from a broadway show in London and a day trip to Bath to meeting up in Positano with Casa Artom friends, I’ve loved the opportunity to travel alongside my studies.
And I can’t not mention how INCREDIBLE Worrell house is! The location and home itself are amazing, and have definitely made my study abroad experience very unique!”

A sweet recap of Jazlynn’s semester doing the WFU Chile: Across South America spring program 🇨🇱🤍

“Barcelona is beautiful. I’m so lucky to have lived in its beauty. Hola! My name is Juan Londoño and I was abroad with WFU’s Barcelona Spring 2025 program, studying economics.
I think our twenties are about many things, and one of those things is about collecting as many stories as possible.
I am leaving Barcelona with what feels like enough stories to write novels for a lifetime. Whether stories about walking through the beautiful city for hours on end, stories of sharing with people in villages living lives completely opposite to mine, stories of travel I can barely remember because of few hours of sleep, or stories of strangers that became friends for a few hours in countries across the world, I have fallen in love with the stories I’ve lived.
I’m excited to replay all of them in my head until I can’t any more, and eternally grateful to the city that made each of them possible.”

Repost from @wfu_casaartom 🇮🇹♥️
« Each semester at Casa Artom, students have the privilege of going on private art history tours led by Art History professor, Dr. Agnese Chiari. They visit all of the city’s famous sites such as the Ducale Palace, St. Mark’s Basilica, Scuola di San Rocco, Academia Galeries, and more!
At the end of the semester, students enrolled in the art course get to present famous art works using the knowledge they gained from the course. »

Bittersweet to share that today is Tyler’s last day at Wake 🎩
If you’ve done a summer or short-term study abroad program, you’ve likely met or emailed with our senior advisor, Tyler (top left) who worked hard behind the scenes. We are excited for his new journey ahead, and greatly appreciate his dedication and kindness the past 3 years. Cheers to Tyler! ⭐️
