Program Information

Overview

Discover Croatia: Cultivating an Entrepreneurial Mindset Through Practice

This course compares and contrasts entrepreneurship and capitalism in the United States and Europe, with a special emphasis on Croatia. We study how, and to what degree, the European safety net (free health care, free education, retirement benefits) impacts entrepreneurial intentions and action. Also, we study the entrepreneurial mindset, and examine how it develops in both environments.

Program

We will split time in Dubrovnik and Split, Croatia. In both locations, we will visit entrepreneurial accelerator programs, incubator programs, hubs of innovation, and hear from local entrepreneurs that will share their experience of being an entrepreneur in Croatia. We will also visit key cultural landmarks and get a feel for the local customs and cultures and examine how, and to what degree, they impact entrepreneurship and innovation in Croatia.
