Set amidst the "dreaming spires" of the historic and beautiful medieval city of Oxford. In addition to the thirty-one individual colleges of Oxford University, the town boasts such prominent sites such as Carfax Tower, Ashmolean Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and Christ Church Cathedral. London, with its manifold attractions, is an easy one-hour train ride away.The St. Peter's College Summer Schools normally run for five weeks from July into August and are designed to offer students from North America and elsewhere direct experience of Oxford's traditional approach to university education. Academic courses, designed and taught by Fellows and Lecturers of the College and the wider university with overseas students in mind, have a British and European focus.
June 29 - August 3, 2013Academic ProgramThe Magdalen College Summer School offers two programs of study. Students choose from either Medieval Studies or Environmental, Urban, and Regional Studies. The courses emphasize independent study and secondary research in the framework of tutorials (guided small group discussions). Students are housed in the College's single rooms and have their meals either in the College dining hall or in a self-service cafeteria. Summer school students have access to computer facilities.
CostsCosts are approximately $6,00 (£3,950) and include tuition, room and board, organized weekly excursions, and field trips. An optional four-day field excursion is available at an additional cost of £495. Students are responsible for round-trip airfare, personal travel, and expenses.
