Anna Marter

Anna is a Senior Study Abroad Advisor and has been at Wake Forest since August 2016. She primarily works with Affiliate semester study abroad programs. Anna was born in Ukraine but grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She attended NYU for undergrad and then the SIT (School of International Training) for her master’s program in International Education. While at NYU, she studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland, and then took a post college gap year, living and working in Australia and New Zealand for 2 years.

Cody Ryberg

Cody is a Senior Study Abroad Advisor and has been at Wake Forest since August 2016. He primarily works with Wake Forest semester programs, including Barcelona: Business & Global Studies, Chile: Across South America, INSTEP Cambridge and London, Japan: Kansai Gaidai, and London: University Studies and Internships. Cody grew up in southeast Minnesota and went to school at Luther College, majoring in History and minoring in Communication Studies. While there he participated on a program focused on Viking history that went to Denmark, Norway, and Ireland. He also completed graduate school in Higher Education Administration at St. Cloud State University, where he was able to participate in a program in Macerata, Italy.

Ashley Brookes

Ashley (She/Her/Hers) is a Study Abroad Advisor and has been with the Center for Global Programs and Studies at WFU since August 2017. Ashley advises for affiliate semester programs and also co-manages the Community-Based Global Learning (CBGL) programs, managing CBGL programs specifically in sub-Saharan Africa and South America.  She is originally from southern Maine and went to Gettysburg College where she earned a BA in Globalization Studies with a focus in post conflict transformations in sub-Saharan Africa, later earning an MA from Boston College in International Higher Education, also with specializations in higher education and development in Africa and South America. Ashley studied abroad in Uganda and Rwanda in undergrad and is grateful to have had opportunities to travel throughout Europe, Oceania, Africa, and South America.

Taylor Burdette

Taylor is a Study Abroad Advisor working with Wake Forest semester and summer programs. Originally from Frederick, MD, she has been a staff member in the Center for Global Programs & Studies since the summer of 2017. Taylor graduated from Gettysburg College with a BA in History. As an undergraduate she participated in a study abroad program in London and at Lancaster University in northern England. She is currently enrolled in Wake’s Liberal Studies graduate program.

Marcia Crippen

Marcia is a Study Abroad Advisor for Wake Forest Semester Programs, including the 3 Houses, programs in Salamanca, Dijon, and the domestic Wake Washington and Wake West Programs. She also manages the Community Based Global Learning (CBGL) programs in Southeast Asia. After graduating from Old Dominion University with a Masters in Education Leadership with a concentration in International Education in 2015, Marcia worked at the University of Georgia as an advisor for study abroad and incoming exchange students. She then joined the Center for Global Programs and Studies in August 2017.  Marcia studied abroad in Ireland for a semester as a High School Senior, taught English in Brazil after college, and participated in short-term programs exploring higher education systems abroad in Hong Kong, England, Ireland and Scotland during her graduate program.

Sean McGlynn

Sean has been a Study Abroad Advisor in the Center for Global Programs and Studies since August of 2017. He is originally from New England and his first “study abroad” experience was during third grade in Cork, Ireland when his family relocated there for a year due to his mom’s work. Sean proceeded to study abroad for a semester in Buenos Aires, Argentina during his time as an undergraduate at Plymouth State University. He has also spent four summers working in Europe as an On-Site Program Coordinator for a faculty-led study abroad program focused on architecture. Sean is currently working on his Master of Arts in Sustainability at Wake Forest as well.
